The idea of semi-permanent eyelashes in Patagonia might seem strange if you’re unfamiliar with the process. Here’s how it works: Trained technicians use high-quality synthetic hairs that are made of mink, silk or special fibers to strategically place eyelash extensions on top of your real lashes.

These Patagonia lash extensions may be worn 24 hours a day and last 8 to 10 weeks and are designed to look totally natural, giving you a fuller, more attractive appearance. Some of our most popular requests are the cat-eyelash look and the Kim Kardashian lash style.

What Eyelash Extension Brand Is The Best?

how long do fake lashes last

I was born without a lot of body hair. I feel lucky; I am one of the few who have gotten away with not having to wax nor shave my legs EVER. On the downside, my eyebrows are thin and my eyelashes short, light and sparse like my eyebrows.

I don't wear mascara. I found my lashes falling off along with mascara when it was time to clean off.

Upon my sister's prodding, I decided to try lash extensions. I've seen other girls.... Oh, to have those long butterfly eyelashes!

The process:

The eyelash extensions came in three different lengths: Long, medium and natural. Because my own eyelashes are short to begin with, I went for the natural length. The whole procedure was long and tedious. Each individual eyelash extension had to be glued to my own and I had to keep my eyelids closed the entire time, trying my best not to move them, as any movement caused the just-glued-but-not-quite-set eyelash to become crooked. As far as any pain or discomfort, there was none, except for the smell of the glue, which wasn't too bad. I was fidgety the whole time and I couldn't contain my anticipation. After forty five minuets, which seemed more like two hours to me, the eyelash extension procedure was done. I looked in the mirror...OMG. Those are not my eyes! They are too sexy, too tantalizing! (OMG again!) I had to look long and hard in the mirror. I had long eyelashes! Not only that, but I looked like I had eyeliner on, too. My sister and I giggled and giggled like two teenagers. I walked out of that salon quite happily. I didn't even take a single look at the leaflet that was handed to me, the "How To Care For" instructions of my new deliciously lush prolific eyelashes.

Would I do it again? Probably not. Although I was happy with my eyelash extensions during the first two weeks, the week or so that followed after that was quite awkward as half of them had already come unglued. I would liken it to growing out a bad haircut. I'm also a fussy person and I could not keep from rubbing my eyes.

This is not to say that I have given up my quest for long sexy eyelashes. I do have my eyes on LATISSE, that prescription eyelash treatment that is supposed to grow them naturally thicker and longer. And then there is TALIKA and another similar product from Peter Thomas Roth that work much like Latisse except that they can be bought without prescription. I don't give up. Onward with the good fight for BEAUTY!!

How To Eyelash Extensions Diy?

do eyelash extensions ruin your real eyelashes

Well girls, what's it to be? So many options on the market, and yes, they all have a price - not just the up front costs but the on going maintenance of those lovely lash treatments! Lovely lashes are of course every woman's dream, but we're not all gifted with amazing eyelashes. To get the look, how do we choose? Lets take a look at our options:

False Eyelashes

Adventurous and have a steady, artistic hand? You can try your luck with eyelash glue and stick on an amazing choice of false eyelashes. They come in many colours, lengths, and thickness, with options to dazzle your friends with added bling or even glow in the dark lashes! False eyelashes are either sold as Individual or Strip and come in shades from blondes to black or wild colours like greens and purples. The difference between individual and strip lashes is in the application. Individual lashes in two styles: regular or cluster, are applied to the base of your eyelashes to create a fuller look. Individual lashes generally will stay in place until your natural eyelash sheds. Strip eyelashes on the other hand are applied to the eyelid across the top of your natural eyelash line and can be removed and re-used. They are priced as cheap as ten dollars made from synthetic or silk, or as much as forty dollars for a pair. If budget isn't a problem you can lash out on a pair of fox hair eyelashes for around $1000 - thank goodness they're reusable! If it's costume makeup you're doing, then by all means - go crazy! To achieve a 'natural' look the general rule is to stick to shades that most suit your natural colour. If it's evening wear your creating lovely lashes for, then go with black.

Grow Your Own Eyelashes Naturally

Another craze in the quest for perfect eyelashes is to enhance or make your own eyelashes grow naturally. The key to these products is to nourish and strengthen brittle eyelashes as well as to stimulate new growth. Generally the products come in a mascara wand and contain a protein formula, applied once or twice a day. What to look for when purchasing: Make sure the ingredients are considered safe (for sensitive eyes) and effective, as well as being clinically researched and proven. Keep in mind how much of the product you will need to use in order to get results, and if usage is on going. This should give you an indication of what it will end up costing you before you buy. Watch out for dangerous ingredients like paraben and prostaglandin.

Remember girls; there are eyelash remedies you can make from your own home!

Where To Put Eyelash Extensions?

eye lash extensions

Mink eyelashes are the most expensive and luxurious looking of all false eyelashes. Although available as lash extensions, they are normally found as strip lashes that are applied as when required.

False eyelashes have been around since 1916 when D. W. Griffith had a wig maker weave human hair through gauze and then glued to the eyeline of actress Seena Owen in the film Intolerance. No one really took much notice until the 60s, when they came back into fashion and were then made from synthetic substances. Mink eyelashes are more recent and preferred by celebrities who do not always wish for permanent implants.

Beware when looking for mink eyelashes if you find cheap ones, as these are likely to be fakes. Look for high quality strip lashes that guaranteed to be 100% natural mink fur and you won't be disappointed with your choice.
